Hi everyone! Vaidehi Agarwalla and I are currently running a beta-test for an EA Pen Pal service or EA Chats 2.0. If you are newer to the EA movement we encourage you to sign up!

We'd like to get more participants as we are now about 14 days into our project. (For those who've signed up once you can sign up again!) We've matched 40 people so far. If this project gets enough us, we are hoping to get it automated and prominently hosted on a range of EA platforms.

Sign up here: https://forms.gle/K3YUXLUao5fcUDCf9

Users will be randomly matched, given each others’ contact information, and provided with a discussion prompt. You can then schedule a video call and get to know each other, or exchange emails.

For more information, please see our full project proposal: http://bit.ly/eapenpals. We welcome feedback! If you have any questions, feel free to contact us (Benjamin and Vaidehi) at EACommunityProjects@gmail.com.

If someone who has a deep background in EA wants to participate, but specifically only wants to be matched with someone who does not have a deep background, how should they make this known to the organizers?

For example, I'd be interested in taking part, but I think I'd do much more good answering questions from someone newer to EA than chatting to someone who also works at a Bay Area EA org.

Hi Aaron, Just mention it in your intro and we'll see if there's someone who we can match you with. It is more likely in later versions of the project but if possible we'll try to connect you to someone during this run! Thanks!
